Llegamos a 1973, otro año espectacular como fueron prácticamente todos los años en la década de los 70. La música negra sigue viviendo una época dorada, con grandes discos de gente como Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Gladys Knight & The Pips… También el rock más elaborado estaba viviendo días de gloria, con Pink Floyd y Genesis a la cabeza. Los cantantes-pianistas como Billy Joel o Elton John sacaban grandes discos, y asistimos a la fulgurante aparición de Mike Oldfield o Bruce Springsteen y a la confirmación del gran momento de forma de Lou Reed o David Bowie.

Una obra maestra dentro de la extraordinaria racha de obras maestras que publicó Stevie Wonder entre 1971 y 1976. Un disco que mostraba a un compositor comprometido y en estado de gracia, además de prolífico. Canciones como «Too high», «Higher ground» o esa majestuosa ópera funk que es «Living for the city» fusionan estilos con una naturalidad pasmosa, pero es que todas las canciones están a un altísimo nivel. Ahí está «Visions», una canción no tan famosa pero de una espectacular belleza.
