El año 1977 fue un punto de inflexión en la historia de la música, con el estallido del punk y los primeros movimientos de estilos que vendrían después como la New Wave , el Synth Pop o el Post Punk. Predominan nombres nuevos, artistas y grupos surgidos a mediados de la década: Ramones, The Jam, Television, Sex Pistols, Elvis Costello… Al mismo tiempo, otros ya conocidos como Supertramp, Pink Floyd, Billy Joel , Bee Gees (con un álbum en vivo y también con la banda sonora de Fiebre del Sábado Noche) o David Bowie manifestaban estar en un excelente momento. Sorprende Iggy Pop, que de ser una vieja gloria del Protopunk pasó a publicar hasta tres grandes discos este año. También es de reseñar el debut de Peter Gabriel en solitario tras dejar Genesis.
En fin, ahí va la lista completa de los que son, a fecha de hoy, mis discos preferidos de 1977. También, como novedad de 2026, estoy incluyendo los discos que todavía no tengo claro a qué categoría irán, y mi lista de deseos del año en cuestión.
